Back to the Grind!!

So after three days off work, it was time to get back to it. It wasn't too bad...

When I got home from work, I watch my latest Netflix movie, The Haunted Airman:

The Haunted Airman, staring Robert Pattinson! So it got really bad review on Netflix, but I just couldn't resist Robert Pattinson!!! So anyway, the movie... it's a movie put out by the BBC about a pilot that has been disabled due to an injury sustained in WWII.  I didn't think it was that terrible of a movie, but I think it would have been better as a play. It was kind of weird and had an interesting twist at the end but overall I didn't think was to bad.

Thanksgiving in New York!

Wednesday:

Candice dropped me off at the airport early in the morning and I got to NYC around lunch time, where John and Terry were waiting for me.  The first thing we did, was went back to Terry's house in Brooklyn to get settled in and figure out what we were going to do with the rest of the day.

Me, John, and Dan decided we were going to see the Blue Man Group and then meet up with Terry and John's dad for dinner.

This was my first time to see the Blue Man Group and it was so awesome!!! And after the show we got to meet the guys from the show! They stayed in character the whole time, so it was just a one sided conversation but it was still lots of fun... this is the only picture that turned out good.

After we got back to Brooklyn, we all went out to eat at Bamonte's Restaurant. This was a classic Italian restaurant in Brooklyn. This restaurant was featured in several episodes for The Soprano's. We had some very great food there, mussels marinara, baked clams organata, and John and I shared stuffed Flounder. It was all so good.

When we got back to Terry's it was time for bed! We needed to get some sleep so we could wake up early to get to the parade!!

Thursday:

Happy Thanksgiving!!

We had two tickets to sit on the bleachers at the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. The tickets said they closed the stopped letting ticket holders in at 8:30 a.m., so we decided that getting there at 7:30 a.m. would give us plenty of time... not so much. The line was almost 3 blocks long and after standing in line until about 8:20 a.m. we decided to give up on the tickets and find a spot on the street.

One thing I can say about the parade.... it was crowed. If this is something we ever have the opportunity to do, we will need to get there at least 2 or 3 hours earlier. But I did get some good shots of some of the balloons.

Macy's!

Spiderman!

Kirmit the Frog!

Miss America!

Shrek!

Spunge Bob!

Mickey Mouse

Jimmy Fallon (at the very top)

Snoopy!

Buzz Lightyear!

Horton!

Santa!!!

After the parade we made it back to Terry's in time to get ready for Thanksgiving dinner at her brother's house. We stopped at a little coffee shop first, where John could look at his work e-mails real quick.  I got a cappuccino and I had to wait a little while for it, but it was worth the wait. It was so good! And it had a little heart in the milk!

The original plan was to be at dinner at 4:00 p.m. but at the last minute got moved up to 2:00 p.m. So we pretty much had to start getting ready and get on the road.  Terry's brother only lives about 20 miles away from her house, but it took about an hour and a half to get there using the "Expressway".

Once we got there everything was great! We started out with drink and snacks... cheese, meat, and olives.  The meal started off with pumpkin tortellini in chicken broth.  It was sooo good. I'm not the biggest fan or pumpkin but this was delicious. I managed to get a picture:

After we were done with the tortellini, it was time for the rest of dinner. Most everything we had to eat were the normal Thanksgiving Day foods: turkey, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, lots of wine, and etc. Something different I had never tried before was Turducken. It's a turkey, stuffed with a duck, stuffed with a chicken. It was different; the best part was the gravy it made. It was unlike anything I had ever had before. And dessert was a whole meal in itself! I ate way to much, but it was a great day!!

Friday:

John, Dan and I went into the city to do a little shopping and so John and I could get tickets to a Broadway Show! I went with Dan in search for the perfect shoes, while John waited in line to get tickets to Rock of Ages staring Constantine Maroulis.

The show didn't start until 8:00 p.m., so it gave us a little time to walk around Time Square.

In Time Square they also had some nice bathrooms. It was pretty entertaining... they had people outside singing and someone at the bathrooms with a mic that talked to you while you were waiting in line.  It was really funny when, I was already in a bathroom, and I could hear the guy ask John what he was going to do when he got in there! Haha! If you wanted to know, he said #1!!!

The girl singing outside.

All of us sitting on a giant toliet!

While we were walking around we ended up buying comedy club tickets to The Comic Strip and getting a free picture of beer from Big Daddy's Bar.

After we all went to Big Daddy's, John and I went to dinner and then to Rock of Ages. We had a great dinner at a French restaurant that John heard was close to the theater. We both got a salad and salmon, with a glass of wine each for just $20 a person!!! We got done with dinner just in time to get to the show.

This show was so awesome! It was a rock n roll love story put to the music of the 80's. When we walked in the door, they gave everyone a flashlight in the shape of a lighter to turn on during the slow ballads. It was defiantly a show I wouldn't mind going to again.

Saturday:

At 12:30 a.m. we went to The Comic Strip comedy club.

The comedy club was lots of fun! I couldn't believe it didn't start until 12:30 in the morning. There was a two drink minimum and it was buy one get one free night (or morning). But after the first drink it was okay. The first comic to get up was terrible, but everyone else that got up there was really great. We didn't leave the club until 3:00 a.m. I'm not sure when the last time was I have stayed up that late, but it was worth it.

We slept in a little and then got up and helped Terry around the house. I helped paint the banister of the stairs and helped Dan paint a door. It was my first experience ever painting and it wasn't that bad with someone helping you.

At 5:45 p.m. we had tickets to go see A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor. It was fun, a little different though. It was a live taping for the radio shop, so most of the time he was not performing for the audience; he was performing for the radio. Like if the crowd was clapping to long, you missed something he was saying because he just kept on with the show. It was fun to see Garrison Keillor though.

For dinner we decided to have dinner in. We got pizza from a local restaurant. It was lots of fun. We got to bed early because John and Dan both had to be at the airport at 5:00 a.m. on Sunday. It was a great way to end a great holiday weekend!!!!

Sunday:

I got up around 4:00 a.m. to tell John goodbye :( Then I went back to sleep for a little while. Terry, John's dad, and I didn't need to be at the airport until later in the morning. I got up around 7:30 a.m. to get ready and help clean up the house before it was time to go. I had such a great time in New York and was thankful I didn't get sick!

Candice picked me up at the airport around 1:00 p.m. and she let me take her out to eat as a thank you for dropping me off and picking me up. It was a great way to end a great weekend!!!

24 November 2009

Early day at work and Memphis!

So today I have to be at work at 7:00 a.m., which turn out to be a good thing. I got to leave work at 2:00 p.m.!!! I had to get home, and reorganize my suitcase... I was trying to avoid checking a bag (it cost $20!!) but I discovered it was unavoidable.

I made it to Memphis a little before 7:00 p.m. and we decided to go to Sekisui for sushi!!

It was sooo good! We had been boycotting them, because of the last experience we had there, but decided to give them another try (and Louis had a coupon, which in the end ended up getting misplaced). My rolls turned out great, while others lacked their usual pizzazz... This may be the last straw for Sekisui in Bartlett...

It was still a great night with great friends!!!!

23 November 2009

Packing for Thanksgiving!

So I'm having to do all my packing tonight, for a trip I not leaving to go to until Wednesday! As soon as I get off work tomorrow, I'm going to make my way to Memphis! I'm hoping to get off work early tomorrow, so I'm not driving in the dark and it gives me more time to visit with Can, Lou, and Parker!!!

22 November 2009

My Busy Weekend

Friday:

1. Woke up about 5:00 a.m. to help co-worker with some of the early morning stuff we are responsible for.

2. Went for a run about 6:00 a.m.

3. Worked from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  It was my late Friday. :( It wasn't that bad, pretty quiet. Didn't get as much work done as I needed to in the afternoon, but it could wait until Monday.

4. Had left over potluck lunch stuff from Thursday. It was great to no have to fix something for my self this morning or have to go out and buy something. My boss, Kay, also had enough left over ingredients to make another batch of the salad she made.  Mixed greens, feta, almonds, dried strawberries and cranberries, crispy won tons, and raspberry vinaigrette.  You can't go wrong with this mixture!!

5. Was thinking about going camping with friends, but because I needed to run lots of errands and run 11 miles this weekend, I opted out. And it was also supposed to rain, rain + cold = not good! I couldn't afford to get sick, with Thanksgiving and a half marathon coming up.

6. Went with my friend Jessica H. to see New Moon!!!! We were going to go see it on Sunday, because I was going camping but because that was no more we able to go to the movies!

This is a movie that I had been looking forward to for a long time, and was pretty bummed that I wasn't going to be able to see it until Sunday. But when I changed my plans about the camping trip, I was pretty excited seeing it opening night!  It was a little crazy, I can't remember the last movie I went to one opening night, and it was quite entertaining. There were tons of die hard Twilight fans there and the theater was packed out! When the movie started people were screaming and clapping. And when they started showing the main characters the same thing happened. Jessica and I were hoping to see lots of people dressed up, but no such luck. We decided they had all come to the midnight showing... Although the critics have not been to kind to the movie, I thought it was great! They stuck to the book a lot better with this movie then they did with Twilight, but it was over too fast. There was one cheesy part, but it was supposed to be that way. Other than that it was fantastic! I will have to see it again!!!

7. Got to bed too late, I just couldn't get to sleep after I got home from the movies... I thought I might get up and go running but with me getting to bed so late and the chance on rain, I decided I would just sleep in.

Saturday

1. Slept in... It was so nice! Even thought it was only until 8:30 a.m.

2. Got up and ready to run lots of errands, there were tons of things I needed to get done!

3. Went to Brandon, signed my application for the new Consignment shop near my mom's house. I dropped something off there over a month ago, but hadn't been able to make it back over there to get the paperwork done (when I dropped it off they were out of applications).

4. Stopped by my mom's house to pick up her recycling and my mail.

5. Took my mom's mailbox apart.  It looked like someone had hit it with a baseball bat.  The actual mailbox was not damaged, but the screws that were keeping it attached to the post were bent and the mail box was leaning to the side.  I took the whole thing off the stand only to figure out that I would not be able to put it back on without power tools.  I used bungee cords to get it back on and suggested my mom ask someone at the church to help her put it back on for real.

6. Stopped at the drug store to get a prescription refilled.

7. Went to Northpark in hopes of finding something new to wear on Thanksgiving... no luck.  But I did find a new jacket! The nice jacket I have, I've had for almost 10 years and it was used when I got it. I went to the Gap in hopes of using my gift cards I got for using my Gap card.  I had two $20 gift cards that were burning a hole in my pocket. I lucked up and ended up finding a pea coat that I really liked! And ended up only paying $2 for it!  So the jacket was originally $118 and on sale for $69.95, then all sale item were another 40% off. So my total went down to $41. With my two gift cards the total came to $2.14 with tax!!! I never do that good, and was really excited about my find! Here's a picture of it:

8. Went and saw New Moon again!! Yes, I know... it's kind of pathetic. But I just had to go see it with my sister. We thought about going and seeing it on Sunday, but since Teresa got off work at 3:00 p.m. and I was done with my shopping, we decided to go ahead and go!

This time around was just as good as the first!  The only difference was the people in the theater with us. There were several people sitting beside us that you could tell hadn't read the books. And there were a lot more "date night" type couples there. Meaning the girls were fans and the guys were there to make fun of it. But it was still lots of fun going with Teresa. I would like to see it again, but that may be a little excessive.

9. Got to bed early... I had to get up early and run 11 miles. Rain or shine!!

Sunday:

1. Got up early and went to the Ridgeland Recreational Trails.

2. So I was supposed to only do 11 miles but somehow I thought one stretch of it was a little shorter than it actually was and ended up doing it twice.  Bring my total mileage to almost 13. Oh well... at least now I know I'm ready for my half!!  Only two more weeks!

3. Treated myself to Krispy Kreme!! I let myself get one glazed and one chocolate.  I even waited a few minutes so I could get a fresh glazed donut!! It was so good. A great reward for myself after my run.

4. Went home to finish my breakfast and then took a shower.

5. Went to Cups to check mail and various other things.  I knew if I stayed home I would go to sleep and I was trying to avoid this.  I wanted to be able to sleep tonight!

6. Went home, fixed dinner, and watched my latest Netflix pic... Speak

Speak is based on the novel by Laurie Halse Anderson, and stars Kristen Stewart. It's about a girl, Melinda Sordino, who had a traumatic experience over the summer before she started high school, leaving her a selective mute and an outcast. You find out what happened to her at the beginning of the movie, but the truth doesn't come out to anyone else until the very end... This is defiantly a movie that all girls and women should watch. I thought this was a great movie with an inspirational message.

7. Went to bed early, sore and tired, and ready to start my two day work week!! Yea!

19 November 2009

Potluck and Unwrapped!

Today was my company's Thanksgiving potluck lunch. It was so good! We started eating around 11:45 a.m. and didn't get done 1:00 p.m. I just got a little taste of most everything and I seemed to eat forever! After we were done eating we still had a whole afternoon to try and work.  This was a no go... I didn't get much done at all.  I spent most of the afternoon snacking on Tums.  I don't get home cooking that often, so it was so worth the little bit of heartburn!

After work I headed home to get ready for Unwrapped in Fondren!! It was the Christmas edition of Fondren after 5.

It was lots of fun! Karen, Jessica and I meet up and headed to Fondren.  I was so excited about all the free food and free wine we were able to snag! We also got to go in several stores that I had never been in, which was a lot of fun! We also got free t-shirt from the Jackson Free Press. Overall it was a really great night!

18 November 2009

Early to Work = Leave Work Early!

Well, a little early... I had to be at work at 6:00 a.m., didn't leave until 4:00 p.m. and didn't get a lunch break. So even thou I got to leave an hour early I still but in 10 hours today at the office.

When I got home I had a new movie waiting for me. Yea! I'm really love Netflix!  The movie I got was Up!

This movie was so cute but had some really sad parts. I boo-hooed at the beginning of this movie; it was really sweet the way the older man reminisced about him and his wife's life together. After the sad part was over though, adventure ensued... The rest of the movie was cute and silly and had a cute ending. I would recommend it to anyone.

17 November 2009

The Only Good Thing About My Day...

Tonight was a bi-monthly meeting for the Jacktown Run-down club I'm a member of. I was really excited about going because the weather is now my idea of the perfect running weather!  I got made run of for wearing my shorts and short sleeve t-shirt, but it was only 50 outside. It is a little chilly to start, but I warmed up pretty fast! We kept to our run around Belhaven and ate at Fenian's. It was lots of fun!

16 November 2009

Feel Like A Slacker Today...

I skipped my morning run this morning. :( I went to bed entirely too late, trying to watch Pineapple Express and then had trouble getting to sleep.  I did make up for it by walking 5 miles on the treadmill after work!!!!

The reason for the 5 miles on the treadmill...

I like this show, its fun to watch. But it usually leaves me feeling out of shape and uncoordinated! I know I shouldn't think that, but that's the way it is, hence the 5 miles. It also doesn’t help that this show last 2 hours! Reminder to myself for next Monday: No Dancing with the Stars while on the treadmill. Ha!

15 November 2009

Cleaning and a movie!

Today was pretty uneventful:

1. Woke up to early.
2. Cleaned up my apartment.
3. Got scared by a lizard hiding in my blinds.
4. Ate left over hibachi for lunch.
5. Went to Cups.
6. Finished season 1 of Dexter.
7. Started season 2 of Dexter.
8. Walked 4 miles on treadmill.
9. Cooked myself some supper.
10. Watched Pineapple Express.

Pineapple Express staring Seth Rogan (buyer of drugs) and James Franco (drug dealer), was both a little stupid and hilarious! For the most part it was a pretty stilly movie. It's about a court server, whom happens to smoke lots of weed, who witnesses a murder, and drags his drug dealer into trying to get away for the drug supplier. It did have some very funny parts. I wasn't quite sure what I was I was getting myself into when I rented this movie; I just heard it was funny and decided I needed to see it. This movie may not be for everyone, it does get a little violent, but in a comical way (if that's possible). I would defiantly recommend this for my guy friends, and I think a few of my girlfriends might enjoy it as well.

14 November 2009

Got My 9 Miles In!!!

I met up with my friend Kim at the Ridgeland Trails at 7:00 a.m. this morning. I was a little worried about running with Kim, because I'm a slow runner and Kim is a machine!

The run was great! We both started out together, she slowed down a little bit for me and I tried to pick up my pace a little bit for her.  Not even a half a mile in we saw deer!! Five to be exact! At first we only saw 3, they were just chilling out, eating on the right side of the trail.  We started walking because we didn't want to scare them.  Once we got closer, they noticed us, and started to run across the path to the woods on the left side of the trail.  Once they got to running, we noticed there weren't just 3, or 4, but 5! The last deer being a baby! The rest of the run was pretty good.  About half way through, Kim went on ahead of me, which was fine, I was having trouble keeping up and I didn't want to slow her down. It was a great relief went, we got done, because I got my miles in and because it gave me the rest of the weekend to do what I wanted!!! I went to Krispy Kreme after my run as an award! It was delicious!

I tried to keep myself busy, and not nap all day like I did after my last long run.  I went back to my apartment, cleaned a little, and then got back out. I went to Border's (found a new planner!) and Target, I decided to get me a copy of New Moon! My plan is to read it this week again before the movies come out! Yea!

I went to Cups, and tried to waste a little more time before the State game came on. I hadn't been there quite an hour when I got a call from a friend, Jenny, asking me if I would go to Dogwood and help her find shoes and a dress.  She has two little boys and her husband had his nephew over at their house, and she needed to get out!  She did bring the 6 mo baby, which I was excited about. I had only seem him once since he was born. So I made my way back to Dogwood to help her out.  We ended up going to Belk's, The Shoe Department, and Penny's, where we ended up finding everything she needed. And it gave her a much needed break from all the testosterone!! Ha! After we were done with her shopping, she invited me to go to Bonsai with her and her family. I decided I just wanted sushi, and it was so good! The hibachi guy even gave me some of the fried rice, which was an added bonus!

I got home in time to watch us lose the game against Alabama... this was a lose we actually deserved.  We played pretty terrible. :(

13 November 2009

Friday the 13th!! Dum dum dum dum dummmm!

So today turned out to be another 6:00 a.m morning, but the great news! I had to leave work by 10:30 a.m. so I wouldn't get any overtime! Yea! It was so nice to get to start my weekend so soon.  I tried to get a few things done with the rest of my day.  Because I am already committed to so many things for 2010 (It's just around the corner!!!), I decided I needed to get a new planner.  I went to Books a Million and couldn't find one I wanted. So because I had a $5 gift card to Border's, I decided I would make my way there sometime this weekend and get one there.

I took a nap, which was wonderful, but decided I didn't need to nap all afternoon, so I got myself out of my apartment and went to Cups! I was trying to finish Dexter on Netflix, when I got a text from a friend asking me if I wanted to got running in the morning.  I needed to get 9 miles in this weekend and it would be nice to have someone else out there to run with.  She texted me about 8:00 p.m., which meant I need to go ahead and go to bed soon. My friend and I agreed to meet at 7:00 a.m. at the Ridgeland Track. I rushed home, fixed a quick supper, and was in the bed by 9:30 p.m. Excited about running in the morning!!!

12 November 2009

Almost Friday!!!

Thursdays are so great because it means Friday is just around the corner!! Today was even better because even thou I had to be at work at 6:00 a.m. I actually got to leave at about 2:30 p.m.!!! This is usually always the plan for my 6:00 a.m. morning but it hardly ever happened, but today it did! Yea!

So since I had all this spare time, I went to Dogwood to look for a new pair of pants and a new jacket.  I had no luck but it was a pretty day to be out and about.  The next stop I made was to visit my Gramma, it's laundry day and if I can only make it any one day a week, she would prefer Thursday so I can put her clothes up! My last stop was to go to my mom's house. She is not that computer savvy and need help downloading picture from the wedding. It was worth the drive over there because as a treat my mom took my sister and I out to eat! Free food is always good!

Because my sister wasn't working tonight, she came over and watched Flash Forward and Grey's Anatomy with me.  I still haven't decided about Flash Forward but I'm still sticking with it.  And Grey's was great!! Since Teresa doesn't watch Private Practice, she left me to watch it by myself. This weekend episode was pretty predictable but also rough. It ended on a light note but hopefully next weeks won't be such a heavy episode.

::New Balance Update:: So I got their website only to find out I needed a code that is on the box.  I will have to e-mail them tomorrow with the code so hopefully I can start running in these shoes!!!

11 November 2009

Hooray for Wednesday!

I always look forward to Wednesday! Mostly because it's that much closer to Friday!!!!

Today, work went by pretty fast and an added bonus is that I didn't have to be there at 6:00 a.m. I was also not feeling tired when I left work, which made me decided that I might actually work out when I got home. But once I got home I was still not feeling the Insanity video... so I decided I would try out the small gym my apartment complex provides.  I figured I would get on the treadmill and watch Mercy...  It worked out really good! I think I might actually make it a habit! I can just walk over the small gym, watch one of my shows or the new and get in a workout!! Since I have not been motivated to do Insanity this seems like a great alternative! We'll see how it goes.

Something fun that happened today!

So, about a month ago, I heard about how you could sign up to be a product tester for New Balance. They sent you shoes or clothes, and the make you wear them for a given time period and then you send them back.  Your reviews decided weather they pick you again.  So I hadn't given it much thought since I filled out the application, so you can guess my surprise when I got home today and there was a pair of New Balance shoes at my doorstep.  The only problem is, the only thing in the box was a prepaid mail label to send them back.... there were no instructions on how long I need to use them, and what exactly I need to keep track of. And I hadn't received an e-mail about it either (and I make it a habit to check my spam). Hopefully tomorrow I can go online and find some answers... I know there just shoes but here's a picture anyways:

10 November 2009

Early to Work! Blah!

Today I had to be at work at 6:00 a.m. Blah! Last week I got so spoiled, no early days! This week there will be two, today and then on Thursday. At least Friday will be a really short day! Yea!

I didn't get to leave work until about 5:15 p.m., so when I got home I was pretty worthless. So it was another day of skipping out on Insanity! Blah!

I did get a movie in the mail, The Ugly Truth, staring Gerard Butler and Katherine Heigl:

The movie was a really funny and cute romantic comedy. Not as good as Katherine Heigl's last movie, but cute and funny nonetheless. I would recommend this movie.

09 November 2009

Dreary Monday!

Today it was so dreary. It looked and felt like it was going to rain all day long but it never did anything. It was also pretty uneventful at work... I stayed busy all day, not even taking a lunch! I was trying to finish up a report I had been working on for day and then preparing for what I have to do tomorrow morning...
.
I was so tired I just fixed myself some supper and did nothing. My plan was to start Insanity over again when I got home... no such luck. :(

08 November 2009

4. Cups.
5. Watched 2 episodes of Dexter.
6. Cake and wine at Jessica's with Karen and Collin.
7. Started My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult
8. Bed.

07 November 2009

10K + some and Girls Night Out!!

Today was the Blackbird 10k and 5k in Crossgates.  I ran the 10k, while Karen, Collin, and Matt W. ran the 5k.

I was feeling really good about the first part of the race, there were plenty of water stops and people there to cheer you one.  But when the split for the 5k to finish up and the 10kers to go on, it got a little lonely.  The majority of the 2nd half of the 10k was spent on Woodgate Dr. and there was no one there. No one cheering and no one with water, finally when I was almost to Hwy 80 there was people and water!! The race ended up being good. I got 4th place in my age group which was pretty exciting!

After we listened to most of the awards it was time to go. Karen and Collin needed to be somewhere and I needed to run 2 more miles!! I went up to the track by the hospital to get them done.  These were the hardest two miles I think I have ever run.  The break in between was a little to long and I ate a little too much at the end of the race. Oops! But I got them done! And now I don't have to wake up tomorrow morning and run! Yea!

When I got home I was feeling good.  I fixed myself some lunch and watched a movie.  Then the tired started to sink in.  I ended up laying in the middle of my living room and taking a two hour nap! It was fantastic!! I felt really good when I woke up and some the soreness had gone away.

I got up from my nap to get ready for my Girl's Night Out at Bonefish Grill!!!

A few of my girlfriends got together to have a girl's night! I was really excited about Bonefish, I hadn't been in a while and I love their salmon! I get the same thing every time I go because it's never been bad.  And it was delicious!! A few of the girl's I hadn't seen in months so it was lots of fun to catch up.  It was a great evening.

06 November 2009

T.G.I.F.!!!

I'm so glad is Friday!! It's been a busy week and I'm glad it's finally at an end.  I was supposed to leave work at 1:00 p.m. today, but was trying to get something finished up for Kay and didn't leave until 2:30 p.m.  I still didn't get everything done, but I left it that much closer to complete.

After I left work I had to run a few errands, went home to find a movie waiting on me! I'm really enjoying Netflix so far.  The movie I got this time was Vicky Christina Barcelona.

As with any Woody Allen film, it's a little weird, but I thought this movie was really good. It's about two friends, Vicky and Christina, whom go to Barcelona to stay with some relatives for Vicky's for the summer in between semesters in graduate school. They were only there for two months, and it was a little crazy all of the things they experienced while they were there.  But over all I thought it was good.  I don't think many of the guys would enjoy this movie, it's definitely more of a chick flick.

To end the night, I went over to Brandon to pick up my mail for my mom's house and had supper with Karen and Collin at Abner's. It was much better then the last experience I had at the Brandon Abner's!! The food and the service was really great!! I went over to Karen and Collin's after supper for ice cream and a movie.  About half way through I decided I needed to leave. It was getting late and I needed to get to bed. I'm getting up early to run a 10k in the morning (preceded by two extra miles to get in my required 8 for the weekend)!!!  Karen, Collin, and Matt W. are running the 5k. I'll let you know how it goes!

Happy Friday Eve!!!

I am so glad today is Thursday, because that means tomorrow is FRIDAY!!!

Work went by pretty fast today, which I was grateful for. I was really excited about going to Fondren after 5. I met up with a few friends, Jessica, Jessica, and Jason.  Our 1st stop was at Fisher Art Gallery, one of the girls wanted to see one the the exhibits and wanted to see it and there was free wine!! I enjoy looking at the art but have no understanding of any of it. I don't know what's good and how the price is justified. I enjoyed myself thou and you can't beat FREE wine!

Our second stop was in Fondren Corner, was stopped at a place called Crazy Cat Barkers. Their main location is in Highland Village, but are opening a little place in Fondren.

They were letting people sample their Bread Pudding with Brandy Butter Sauce! And OMG!! This was probably the best bread pudding I've ever had in my life.  It crisp on the outside and perfectly gooey on the inside, with pecans on top. So good!! I'm thinking I might be making a trip there soon for more!

We ended the night by eating supper at Que Serra Serra.  It started out good, our waitress was good, food was good, music was good. But then we were ready to go and our waitress seemed to disappear, for about 15 minutes! She was nowhere in sight. She finally reappeared and asked us if we were ready for our checks, which took another 5 minutes!! Besides that it was great evening.

This Fondren after 5, something that usually happens once a month, is usually the big Christmas one. Lots more shops are open longer and there's more free wine and food. But for some reason they moved it to the 19th.  I'm really looking forward to it. It should be lots of fun!

A boring crappy feeling day!!

Today was pretty uneventful... I had a long day at work getting trained on something new I will now be responsible for at the end of each month. I didn't feel good all day, and this did not help. By the time I left work I was drained.

By the time I went home and fixed myself a good supper, I was feeling much better!  And I excited about watching Mercy and Nip/Tuck!

I'm really loving this show! But I'm afraid that it's not going to last another season.  No one I know watches this show. :( I think a lot of people are just burned out of doctor/hospital shows. It's about a nurse, who is back at work, after spending a tour of duty in Iraq. This show is really great and I think people should watch!

After Mercy, I had an hour of nothing to watch, so I cleaned the kitchen, and read a little while I waited for Nip/Tuck to come on.

Nip/Tuck was sooooo good tonight!!! The first few episodes were kind of boring, but tonight's episode was back to they way it used to be.  It was so crazy! I can't wait to see what happens next week!

Tired Tuesday!

Today I had a pretty busy day at work... well afternoon. I was so tired by the time I got home, I didn't want to do anything. But I made myself straighten up and clean some of my apartment. I needed to workout, but couldn't muster up the energy to do it.

I had a movie waiting on me, Flash of Genius, and decided to make some supper, relax, and watch it.

I thought this movie was sad... Greg Kinnear plays Dr. Robert Kearns, inventor of the intermittent windshield wiper. At the beginning of the movie, it shows how he had everything he ever wanted to just about losing everything. His idea is stolen from him and he spends many years trying to take Ford Motor Company to court to admit their wrong doings, losing his job, wife, and children (whom later return) along the way. I thought this movie was a bit long, but ended okay.

Uneventful Monday!

Today was pretty uneventful. It wasn't bad, just not a lot happened.... work went by fast so that was nice!

I started off the day with a quick run. Even though I ran 7 yesterday, I made myself get up and run this morning too. It was so nice out! About 40 degrees and wonderful. It’s the perfect weather for running!!

After work, I went to Walmart to pick up a few things my Gramma needed and to finally show her the pictures of my Uncle Dan and Jen's wedding. She had only seen one picture and she was excited to see the rest. I tried to do a good job at getting lots of pictures of every event. And I think I did okay. I also had pictures from my Uncle Emery. My Gramma enjoyed looking at them all!! Now she just wants to see the video of the wedding. Hopefully she will get it in the mail soon.

Today, being the first Monday of the month, Redbox sent out a code to get a free rental, and since I'm still waiting on my next Netflix movie to come in, I had to take advantage! I decided to rent Last Change Harvey.

I had really wanted to see this movie because I love Emma Thompson and thought it might be good... but turns out it wasn't that great. Dustin Hoffman's character was so depressing; I thought things would never get better for him. The movie ended good but a little strange. I wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone.

Long Run!

Today I got up early to do my long run for this week... 7 miles.  A friend of mine suggested a new place for me to run to change things up a little bit.  The new place was the Ridgeland Recreational Trail.

I parked in the parking lot near the Mississippi Crafts Center on Rice Road and was supposed to finish near Renaissance but failed to make a turn.  I didn't realize I was in the wrong until I came to a sign that said "Welcome to Madison"! Haha! I ran a little bit further into Madison and then turned around.  It was a nice run, and I'm pretty sure I got in a little more then the 7 miles I was going for.  Next week I'll know better where my turn is.
