Netflix Night!

I saw a preview for this movie and thought it was interesting. It has an all star cast, Amanda Seyfried, Liam Neeson, and Julianne Moore, so I added it to my Netflix Queue.

This movie was pretty terrible. I almost turned it off, but decided to stick with it. It kind of reminded me of Fatal Attraction and Swim Fan mixed together. Very predictable, and felt like it had been done before. I would not recommend this movie.

One of my favorite recipes...

Graham Cracker Cookies!

This is just an example of what I've been typing up. This is one of my favorite cookies my Gramma would make. She didn't make them very often, mainly on holidays and for our family reunion.  How many graham crackers do you need? What is the oven temperture? And for how long? Not sure, something I will have to ask my Gramma today when I go visit her.

Won a book!

Today I got a DM on Twitter letting me know I won a book from @loveofreading!!! Should be interesting... we'll see. As a runner, an eating plan that allows you to eat lots of carbs seems like a good plan to me! Will let know what it's all about when I get it.

YouTube Video!

I saw this video posted several times last week and figure I would share it too. I'm not a fan of poetry but I really enjoyed this video. There is a big difference in being alone and being lonely.

I've done just about everything in this video, except take myself dancing and out to a nice restaurant.  But if there is a movie I want to see, I'm going to not see it just because no one else I know wants to go.

What all have you done alone or could you do alone??

Project!

Gramma's Recipe Box

Long story short, I'm now in charge of my Gramma's recipe box. I started typing them up last night, so everyone in the family who wants a copy can get one... Based on my progress tonight, I think it's going to take a while. Will post my favorites from my childhood when I get to them.

Happy Birthday Teresa!

Today was my little sisters 25th birthday! (Somehow I managed to not get any pictures)

We started the evening by just chilling and having a drink at my apt. We decided that because it is so expensive to order drinks at the restaurant, I would provide some drinks before dinner.

I made Jug Juice or Electric Lemonade. This is something I learned from John's little brother Dan. It's what all the cool kids are drinking now.

In case you wanted  to know the recipe:

Electric Lemonade

1 Gallon Water
1 Tub of Country Time Lemonade
750 ml. Rum (I use Bacardi)

Pour out about half the water from the gallon jug and set to the side. Pour the entire contents of the lemonade and rum into the jug. Fill to the top with water you set aside. (Leave room so you can shake contents.) Serve over ice and enjoy!

After drinks, we headed to P.F. Chang's for dinner.

We started off with the Dynamite Shrimp! They are so good!! For dinner Teresa and I both got the fried rice, mine with chicken and hers with shrimp and beef. We both shared with Mom. It was so delicious! I even have leftover for lunch tomorrow.

We finished the night back at my apt. for birthday cake! Red Velvet Cake to be exact. It was so rich and delicious, I'm going to take the leftovers to work tomorrow. So I'm either going to be loved or hated in the morning. :D

I'll end by singing:

::Happy Birthday to You::
::Happy Birthday to You::
::Happy Birthday Dear Teresa!::
::Happy Birthday to You::

Totally Bummed!

For the last couple of months, I've been training for run my first full Marathon. The plan was to run one in Harrisburg, PA in November with my Uncle Dan. Until last night, when I got a call from him, telling me he wasn't going to be able to run the marathon. I was pretty upset but understood his reasons.

So now I have a decision to make. I'm still going to run a Marathon this year, it's just a matter of which one I should do. Here are a few options I've found:

1. Still go to Pennsylvania and run the Harrisburg Marathon on November 14th.
http://www.harrisburgmarathon.com/home.asp

2. Find a local race around the same time. (I've found a few in the area.)

November 13 Louisiana Trails Missions Marathon in Shreveport, LA.

November 14 Pensacola Marathon in Pensacola, FL

November 27 Mississippi Coast Marathon in Waveland, MS

December 4 St. Jude Memphis Marathon in Memphis, TN

December 4 Baton Rouge Beach Marathon in Baton Rouge, LA

I really need to make a decision by September 1, that is when most of the races registration fee goes up. Any suggestions??

Semi Busy Saturday!

This morning I woke early to do my long run... 16 miles!

Yes 16. It actually wasn't that bad, mostly because it was about 20 degrees cooler than my 14 miler last week. And I burned 2337 calories. So I felt no guilt when I stopped at Krispy Kreme on the way home! Yea!

Later that afternoon Teresa and I went to the movies.

This movie was really cute! A little predictable but really cute and funny. They only offer this movie in 3D, which I really didn't think was fair because it cost more, and after seeing several movies in 3D lately, I'm kind of over it... After the movies we went to Chili's for 2 for 1 margarita's! It was delicious. We both got them same thing we always order. I get the Skillet Queso and Teresa get the Shrimp Pasta, and we nibble off each others plates. We ended the night at Hooter's, for drinks with a few friends that were already there. It turned out to be a great day!

Netflix Night!

This was probably one of the worst guy movies I've ever seen in a while. It wasn't really that funny and parts of it were just plan gross... this was probably due to the fact that I was sent the unrated version. Oh well.... I have The Tudors Season 2 Disk 1 coming tomorrow. Yea!!

Recovery Drink!

So about a month ago, a friend of mine, Lacey posted about recovery drinks. How chocolate milk is just as good for you as the expensive recovery mixes, so I've been giving it a try. Here is her post: http://laceyoutlaw.blogspot.com/2010/07/chocolate-milk-for-recovery-drink-this.html

Things I've discovered since I've started the chocolate milk as a recovery drink regiment:

- give me a boost after my runs
- taste way better
- way cheaper

Something Lacey also mentioned to me was that Kroger must have heard about this research and decided to market the container to reflect this. I hadn't seen it yet until my latest chocolate milk purchase. Thought it was cool it has runners on it. :)

New Table

I forgot to post a picture of my new table! Well, new to me table. John's dad is getting ready to put his house on the market and is cleaning out his house. So Mr. Paul offered me the table and I excepted. And Dan was nice enough to bring it over.  It looks perfect!

Glee!

So I've heard lots of people talk about how great Glee is, so I added it to my Netflix to give it a try...

Tonight I complete Season 1 Volume 1. Season one was split because of the Olympics. But I think I have a new favorite show! It was so funny and cute, probably my band nerd coming out. I can't wait for for Volume 2 to come out! I just hope I can catch up before the new season comes out...

Busy Weekend!

The weekend was so great! But, I've ended the weekend with a cold. It could be just allergies, but I think I've made myself sick because of all the stress and running around I've been doing lately.

Here is a quick recap of the weekend.

- Sam's (they were having an open house for non-member to try it out) w/ Teresa

- bed early

Saturday:

- 14 mile run
- quick lunch

- time w/ John before he got on road

I might have forgotten something... it was that kind of weekend. :)

Netflix Night!

Tonight I watched The Bounty Hunter, starring Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler. It was about a bounty hunter (Gerard Butler) who gets assigned to find his ex-wife (Jennifer Aniston) because she skipped bail and missed her court date because of a traffic accident. She is a reporter who is caught up in a story where she had discovered a murder cover up. So, Gerald Butler is chasing Jennifer Aniston, and then they are both chased by the bad guys.

Overall it was a cute movie. I was glad I rented and did go to the theater to see it though.

10 Years?!?!

This weekend was my 10 year high school reunion from Brandon High School. It was held at the King Edward Hotel in downtown Jackson. I still can't believe it's been 10 years since high school. I managed to only take a few pictures! Literally, only 2, and they turned out blurry. I'm pretty upset with myself for not taking more pictures, but oh well. It was a fun night, visiting with friends and old classmates!
