New Restaurant!

Tonight was Louis's 30th Birthday celebration! It was at Incredible Pizza and it was incredibly fun! I think he was also incredibility surprised! (I'm trying to see how many times I can say incredible in this post.) Anyways, P's birthday party was last weekend and I think Louis thought he wasn't getting a party at all! But we showed him. We had so much fun!

We got to eat tons of pizza, nachos, and sweets.(They also had pasta, salad, baked potatoes, ect.) It was one of the biggest pizza buffet I'd ever seen. I also, had cookies and cinnamon rolls. It was the most sugar I'd had in a long time so i was pretty hyped up. Luckily we were able to work off some of that energy. We were able to play tons of games and I got to do 4 activities. I got to ride the go-carts, 9 holes of mini-golf, the bumper cars, and a simulated monster truck ride (were you actually hang upside down some of the time). It was a super fun night!!!

Movie Night!!

Tonight I watched Silence of the Lambs, starring Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins.  This movie is about a soon to be FBI agent, Clarice Starling, that is given an assignment to help find a missing women who had been kidnapped by a serial killer. To get a better insight of a serial killers mind, she visits a captured serial killer, Hannibal Lecter, while his is in jail.

This is another movie on the AFI's list that I hadn't seen before. Mostly because I was scared to watch it and afraid it was going to scare the bejesus out of me. After watching it, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. There were parts that were a little creepy and gross but still not as bad as I thought it was going to be. It's a movie I don't care to see again, but I'm glad I finally watched it. And now it's marked off my list!

Movie Night!!

Tonight I watched Cabaret, starring Liza Minnelli! This movie is about a singer who performs at a girlie club in Berlin, right at the time when the Nazis are coming to power right before WWII. She falls for two men, and there are many twist and turns through out the movie. Several that I didn't expect and shocked me.

This movie was both a little crazy and fantastic. This is a movie I had never seen before but had wanted to see. It was nothing like I expected it to be. I thought this movie was a musical. There was music in it, but it was far from a musical. It was very good, and I was glad I finally got to see it!

Movie Afternoon!

Since I am off today for MLK day and I'm tired of cleaning up my apt. I decided to head up to Cups to use my gift card I got for Christmas and to watch a movie from my movie list.

Today I decided to watch Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid. It's on demand on my Netflix. This movie stars Robert Redford, Paul Newman, and Katharine Ross. It's about two train robbers, who have robbed the same train to many times. The owner of the train hires a group to hunt Butch and the Kid down. They escape and flea to Bolivia, where they meet their demise. This movie is based on historical characters.
I had never seen this movie before and I thought it was very good, even though I knew how the movie was going to end. You can't go wrong with Robert Redford and Paul Newman. If you like westerns you'll enjoy this movie!

Movie Night!

Today I watched Saving Private Ryan.  I had seen this movie before but it had been a really long time. I enjoyed seeing it again but I'm not sure I want to see it again. It's so violent and sad and real.  I love Tom Hanks in this movie also, he is so wonderful! If you have never seen this movie, it is a must watch!!
Summary from IMDB:

Opening with the Allied invasion of Normandy on 6 June 1944, members of the 2nd Ranger Battalion under Cpt. Miller fight ashore to secure a beachhead. Amidst the fighting, two brothers are killed in action. Earlier in New Guinea, a third brother is KIA. Their mother, Mrs. Ryan, is to receive all three of the grave telegrams on the same day. The United States Army Chief of Staff, George C. Marshall, is given an opportunity to alleviate some of her grief when he learns of a fourth brother, Private James Ryan, and decides to send out 8 men (Cpt. Miller and select members from 2nd Rangers) to find him and bring him back home to his mother

New Restaurant!

Tonight Can, Parker, Karen, and I went to eat at Franco's. It's on County Line Road, in the shopping center with Pier 1. Can has wanted to try it the next time she was in town, and she is in town this weekend, so we went! In High School can worked at Mario's, a Italian restaurant, Mario's later became Franco's and moved to Clinton, later it moved to Ridgeland.

It was very good. I ended up getting the Franco Pasta. It had shrimp, crab, and a cream sauce. It was a little rich, but delicious!! My only complaint was that I couldn't get a glass of wine with my pasta. They don't have their licence yet. But it was a great evening with great friends and I will definitely go again!

New Restaurant!

Today was a co-workers birthday and to celebrate we went to lunch at La Cazuela. It is very close to work and a regular place for some co-workers. It was very good! Some of the best Mexican I've ever had! It was just a shame there were no margarita's involved. :D I will definitely go back!!

Movie Night

Tonight I watched Pulp Fiction, a Quentin Tarantino film. You can see from the movie poster, this movie had an all star cast. And in true Tarantino fashion, was a completely crazy and great movie. I had never seen it before, but I really enjoyed it!! My only question is: What was in the stupid suitcase?!

A brief summary from IMDb:

Jules Winnfield and Vincent Vega are two hitmen who are out to retrieve a suitcase stolen from their employer, mob boss Marsellus Wallace. Wallace has also asked Vincent to take his wife Mia out a few days later when Wallace himself will be out of town. Butch Coolidge is an aging boxer who is paid by Wallace to lose his next fight. The lives of these seemingly unrelated people are woven together comprising of a series of funny, bizarre and uncalled-for incidents.

Movie Night!

Tonight I watched Schindler's List. I had seen this movie before but it was right after it came out. So it's been awhile. This movie was pretty depressing. And I have no desire to ever see it again.

This movie stars Liam Neeson, Ben Kingsley, Ralph Fiennes, and Caroline Goodall, just to name a few. This movie is set during WWII. And is about a man, Oskar Schindler. He is a very rich man, who throughout the movie become a savior of over 1000 Jews from being sent to Auschwitz by buying Jews to work in his factory.

New Restaurant!

Tonight I met Lacey, her husband, and his parents at The Bulldog for happy hour after work today. This was the end of my first week at my new job and I was really looking forward to a drink. I also ordered the chicken tenders, they were pretty good. It was a fun time!! It's a place a would go again!

Movie Night!

Tonight I watched Tootsie. A movie I had seen before but it's been a very long time. This movie stars Dustin Hoffman, and is about an actor who can't get any work. Mostly because he has a reputation for being difficult. He decides to prove everyone wrong by disguising himself as a woman to get a part in a soap opera.

This movie was fun to watch. A man dressing up like a women is always fun. If you haven't seen this movie I would definitely recommend it!
