Glacier National Park, Montana to Yellowstone National Park

After finishing up fly fishing in Glacier National Park, we headed to Yellowstone National Park.

On our way to Yellowstone, John called the park to see if they had had any last minute cancellations on tent camping spots. And they did! We actually got to pick between several of the different areas to camp in. We only had this one for the one night, but we were happy to have it.

Fly fishing in Glacier National Park

For our last morning in Glacier National Park we did a half day of fly fishing! I didn't want to take my fancy camera, so I only have the few pictures I took on my phone.

View going down the river.

John caught the only fish! We had lots of nibbles, but he lured in the only fish. Our guide was so good. She was very patient and gave great verbal cues. She was great about telling us what we needed to do with our lines and where to put them. We had a great time!

Glacier National Park

We stayed in this cute little cabin last night in East Glacier, Montana.  Before we settled in for the night, we attended a Star Party at Glacier National Park. It was very neat. The Rangers who led it had powerful telescopes and a laser pointer that pointed at the stars in the sky. We were able to see Saturn, Venus, and the moon up close.

Since we explored Logan Pass and the Going-to-the-Sun Road yesterday, we visited two other big sections of the park today.

A little hike we did on the Two Medicine Trails to Trick Falls, it was a little under 2 miles.

Trick Falls

We tried to go on a boat tour here, but we had just missed the one for that morning.

Many Glacier was other big loop in the park. This is were the Many Glacier Hotel is located, it was built in 1915.

Little family of goats trying to find their way around.

We were able to get on the tour at the lake outside the hotel, but we had a bit to wait. So we headed to the historic Many Glacier Hotel and tried a beer that is brewed just for the park.

Looks like a cozy place to hang out when it's colder outside.

Grabbed a quick snack. The bus featured on this rootbeer gives tours on the Going-to-the-Sun-Road.

The boat tour starts outside the Many Glacier Hotel on the Swiftcurrent Lake. It docks on the other side of the lake, where you take a short hike to another boat.

2nd boat that we got on road us across Lake Josephine. Once on the other side, there are trails for you to walk on. We decided not to hike because the next boat would not be back to pick us up for several hours.

Driving back through Going-to-the-Sun-Road.

This was the Weeping Wall.

Our Sister-in-Law Rachel worked a summer in college near Glacier National Park, this was the hike she suggested we do.

Deer (We saw so much wildlife on our trip.)
