Happy Easter!

Riding the Train!

For my birthday, Can, Lou, P, Huey, and Tucker got me a train ticket to come see them in Memphis!! I had never been on a train, so I was super excited. Teresa and Mom took me to the train station downtown Jackson. It was so neat, just like the movies!

I ended up staying in the Observation Car on the trip to Memphis and back. It was so nice getting to face outside and look as things go by. It was also very interesting watching and listening to all the people. I also got to read. Which was weird getting to read a book on a trip to Memphis. I'm so used to driving! Although it does take a little while long to take the train then making the drive to Memphis, this is definitely something I will do again.

Here are a few pictures from my journey!!

Book Review!

Bridget Jones's Diary is a novel by Helen Fielding. Written in the form of a personal diary, the novel chronicles a year in the life of Bridget Jones, a thirty-something single working woman living in London. She writes (often humorously) about her career, self-image, vices, family, friends, and romantic relationships.

I decided to re-read this book. I read it about 10 years ago before the movie came out in 2001.  It was funny when I read it the first time, it was even funnier now. Now I'm closer to the characters ago, a can relate with the characters daily struggles. If you need a quick and easy chick read, this is a good one!

Movie Night!

Weirdest movie ever...

This movie stars Harrison Ford.  It's a version of the future where man has created clones, or replicants, to work on other planets. But they start having thoughts of their own, and Earth forms a group called the Blade Runners, to exterminate the replicants.

I'm not sure why this movie made the AFI's list of 100 Best Movies...

Movie Night!

Tonight  I watched Yankee Doodle Dandy, starring James Cagney, Joan Leslie, and Walter Huston. This is a biopic about the life of George M. Cohan, who was a composer, playwright, actor, dancer, and singer. This movie starts from the time he was born, to being a child star, until he comes out of retirement to return to Broadway. The movie ends with him getting a Congressional Medal of Honor from President Franklin D. Roosevelt, for boosting moral with his music during WWI.

This movie was pretty interesting. This is the man that wrote 100's of songs that we still hear today. Like Yankee Doodle Boy, Give My Regards to Broadway, and You're a Grand Old Flag, just to name a few. Below is the 1942 movie trailer. Enjoy!

Book to Movie!

One of my favorite things to do is to read books that are being made into movies. So I really excited for April 22 to get here. Sara Gruen's Water for Elephants (a book I read several years ago) movie adaptation is coming out. This book was fantastic and I can't wait to see the movie! Here are the trailers!
