Fun Day with My Little Sis!!

This morning after I ran a gazillion miles, Teresa came over so we could go to the movies! We decided on Easy A.

I thought this movie was super cute! It's about a high school girl Olive, played my Emma Stone, who lies to her best friend about a fake weekend date with a college guy. Word spreads quickly of Olive's promiscuity, and although it is negative attention, Olive is getting attention so she lets the rumors spread. In the meantime, she helps out a friend by pretending to sleep with him and then her world rapidly begins to get out of control. She decided to help more of her classmates and her lies continue to escalate. It gets to the point where she isn't liking the attention anymore, and has to find a way to reverse the damage she has done to her reputation. I won't tell you how it ends, but it was a great chick flick that I would recommend to all my girlfriends.

This was one of my favorite clips from the movie, and it was on YouTube! Enjoy!

After the movie, Teresa and I decided to find a place to watch the State game. Of all the places, we ended up at Hooter's. We had a great time. It also, didn't hurt that we played good and won the game! Yey!!

Coming Soon...

The other day, Can and I were at my apt. watching the Today Show. We saw all the fans with their signs trying to get a look at the Today Show crew. I mentioned to Can that I want to do that some day. She suggested to me that I should add that to my 30 before 30 list. So, this week I've been working on a list. It's still a work in progress. I'm hoping to post it soon. My dilemma is when should I start it. Should I wait until the day I turn 29 (March 2011), or start it after I post it??? Decisions decisions.

Also, it has kindly been brought to my attention that I won't be able to use my blog title much longer. I'm trying to come up with a new name. Suggestions??

Lights, Camera, ACTION!

I moved my run to this morning, so I could check out what was happening in Fondren. I got there around 6:15 a.m. and was I surprised! I got there to see the street had been completely transformed to look like the 1960's. The building facades were finished, there were classic cars in the parking spots, and people walking around in their 1960's attire.

Thanks to some eavesdropping, I found out what scene they were going to film. Skeeter (Emma Stone) fills up her car at the Shell Station and then drives down the road to Kolb's Cleaners to pick up her dry cleaning.

Here are the pictures I got!!!

On my way to the gym after work today, this is what I saw... Sucks for the man who owns the truck, but still not something you see everyday.

The Help and Fondren

So I had heard that The Help was going to be filming Thur.- Sat. Teresa and I decided to go looking for Stars. We didn't see any Stars, but we did see that Fondren was getting a 50's style facelift.  I got my family to go down there this weekend. Here are a few pictures.

A few of these are at night, and the others are drive-by during the day. I'm hoping to get down there again to get some more shots.

Turns out they will be filming next week. My plan is to make a detour on my run next Thursday to see if there is anything to see! Maybe get some more pictures too!!

Lots o'miles!

Today is my Uncle Dan's birthday! He decided on Logan's for his birthday dinner. The moment I pulled into a parking place this is what it showed! Pretty cool.

My Gramma

Last night around 11:30 p.m. my sweet Gramma passed away. I was there, along with my Uncle Dan and Aunt Mary Ellen. I was glad I was there. It was very fast and I don't think she felt any pain. She had wanted to go for a long time, although I'm very sad, I think it made it a little easier for me when it happened.

Just about every time my Aunt Mary Ellen came into town, my Gramma would get her to play several hymns. For one of them, everyone would get to sing along. It's called The King Is Coming. I found this version (it's the best one I could find) and thought I would share.

Happy 88th Birthday to my Gramma!

This is from last year, but it's still a fun picture. We weren't able to go out a do anything for Gramma's birthday. She is pretty weak and has been doing a lot of sleeping. But she did get lots of cards, phone calls, and flowers!!

What was in the mystery box...

Lotion. Yep, I really have no idea how I came to get this mailed to me. I do sign up for lots of free samples and enter lots of book contest, but I have no idea when I would have entered to win this tub of lotion. But it was still pretty exciting to get something free in the mail.

Anyway, it appears to be a new lotion from Aveeno. Whipped Souffle. And smells pretty good too!

What could it be?

Lotion!

UPDATE::

So apparently I did sign up for this, mystery solved.

Mystery Package..

So, when I got home last night this was on my door...

Since the only package I'm expecting is my shoes (which I just order today), and unless Amazon is really on their game, it has to be something else! I tracked it online and found out it weighs 1 lb. So what could it be?? I should find out tomorrow. Will let ya know!

New Running Shoes!

Today I finally ordered new running shoes! I'm way past due on needing them, but was trying to hold out because they are expensive. I've been stalking them on Amazon.com and they finally went down! Hooray!

Another "Deep Thought" YouTube Video

So here is another ‘deep thought’ YouTube video I came across. I liked it a lot and thought I would share.

Can you define a moment? Every moment is special, good or bad. And all moments have meaning, no matter how insignificant they may seem. Some moments we see, while others we miss. Some we see but don’t realize how important they are until they are no more. But all those little moments make up life. Thoughts?

Labor Day Weekend in Oklahoma City!

This weekend was lots of fun! I got to OK City on Friday and got to spend two full day with my sweetie before I had to leave on Monday. Here a few highlights!

John and his dad had gone Dove hunting on Wednesday and saved me a few so I could try them...

Little Dove wrapped in bacon

It was pretty interesting tasting, a little gamey, with the texture of tough chicken, but the color of chicken livers. I ate a few of them and then I was done. It was a great new experience.

Saturday night we watch some of the State game and then headed downtown for Shakespeare in the Park! It was such a pretty night and the play was great!

On Sunday we went to the shooting range to shoot guns. This was my first time at an outdoor shooting range and it was Terry's first time to every hold a gun, much less shoot one! We had lots of fun. I got to shoot a 22 (which I shot before) and I got to try shooting a 9mm.  The 22 is lots of fun to shoot and I didn't do to bad. The 9mm was a different story, it was much powerful gun, and it scared me a little. A few pics.

After we left the shooting range, we noticed that there were lots of kite surfers out at Lake Hefner, and decided to stop and watch. It was a perfect day, and super windy!

This was our favorite guy.
He did lots of jumps in the air.

The weekend was so wonderful, I just hated it had to end.

Bitter Sweet

I'll start off my saying, I loved these books!! I finished the 3rd book in Millennium trilogy today, and it was a bitter sweet feeling. I really wanted to know how it was all going to end, yet I didn't want it to be over, because there won't be any more books by Stieg Larsson.

This last book, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest, just came out in the US in 2010. Why? Because they were being translated from Swedish to English. Larsson's original plan was to write 10 book in the Millennium series, but died unexpectedly in 2004. I've heard that he had written a majority of the 4th book. Well, the beginning and the ending. So their may eventually be a 4th book (his long term girl friend might finish it). And then someone else might pick up the last 5 (I believe the author had outlined how the rest of the book were to go). So there may or may not be more books added to the series, but it won't be the same.

These book are some pretty heavy reading, so I wouldn't recommend them to everyone, but I enjoyed them immensely!!

Leaving on a Jet Plane!

I have a plane ticket and am leaving today to head to OK City to see my sweetie for the Labor Day weekend!! So excited! I'll be leaving work a little early to catch a flight after lunch.
