Mardi Gras Half Marathon Weekend!

This weekend was so much fun! We drove down to New Orleans on Saturday to pickup our race packets and get settled into out hotel room. We also went out and carb loaded at Primos Restaurant!

Sunday! Race Day!

The race started at 7:00 a.m. so we had to get up pretty early to walk the 2 miles to the start line.  We got there in plenty of time and tried to stay in the sunlight because it was a tad bit chilly at the start.

Cowboy Mouth!

Tried to take out picture with Cowboy Mouth! :)

The concert after the race was lots of fun! I had never stayed for the after party festivities but it was lots of fun and I'm glad we stayed.  We did leave before Cowboy Mouth was finish, we were all tired and hot and ready for showers...

I also didn't realize how burnt I got until we got back to the hotel room...

My hands and face got burnt!!!

After we were showered and were able to rest a little, we went meet up with all our friends that were there and went out to eat. We went to Landry's which was a little pricy but was very good. Then we headed to Bourbon Street for a drink and once of our friends birthdays! Karen, Collin, and I didn't last very long, we were so tired and ended up heading back to the hotel around 9:00 p.m.  The rest of our group only lasted until about 10:30 p.m. I slept so good this night!

Sunday:

We were able to sleep in a little bit and then we went to Cafe du Monde to get beignets and cafe au lait! This was the best way to end our great weekend!

  2. I'm jealous of beignets, Cowboy Mouth, and most of all, Sister Hazel. I so love them.
