Labor Day by Joyce Maynard

SUMMARY: With the end of summer closing in and a steamy Labor Day weekend looming in the town of Holton Mills, New Hampshire, thirteen-year-old Henry—lonely, friendless, not too good at sports—spends most of his time watching television, reading, and daydreaming about the soft skin and budding bodies of his female classmates. I picked this book up at the library because it looked interesting and it was being made into a movie. I was not that impressed with this book at all. I didn't understand the love story or the attraction between the characters. I was glad I borrowed this book and didn't purchase it.
