Yellowstone National Park! We had decided that we would see Old Faithful tomorrow, so we tried to see as much of the rest of the park as we could today. We packed up our tent and made our way to the campground we would be staying at tonight.
This big guy was just trying to find a comfortable spot.
Just chilling near the Mud Volcano.
I wish I had taken video of this spring. It was so loud!
Buffalo or Bison? We're still not sure.
Our new campground for the night. This camp was much better then last night. This was a tent only circle, so it was much quieter then the tent/RV campground from last night.
After setting up our tent, we headed to the lodge to grab some lunch. This was probably the best meal I had had on the trip so far. I was quite surprise too, since it was cafeteria food. I had pulled pork with huckleberry BBQ, mashed potatoes, and garlic green beans with French Fried jalapeƱos.
(BTW everything in Montana was huckleberry flavored.)
So many beautiful wildflowers!
Mountain Goats hanging out on this hill.
This was on our drive.
This was the other side of the canyon.
Closer look...
Petrified Tree
Bald Eagles Nest! If you look close, there is a baby sticking its head out.
We saw several Bald Eagles on our trip, but I didn't manage get any pictures.
John spotted this on the side of the road. It's a male Dusty Grouse. He was doing his mating dance, which is rare to see in person!
After seeing the Dusty Grouse, we came upon a turn off where lots of people were pulled over. We figured we should stop too. It was a black bear!
When the sun starts to set, more critters come out.
