I met up with my friend Kim at the Ridgeland Trails at 7:00 a.m. this morning. I was a little worried about running with Kim, because I'm a slow runner and Kim is a machine!
The run was great! We both started out together, she slowed down a little bit for me and I tried to pick up my pace a little bit for her. Not even a half a mile in we saw deer!! Five to be exact! At first we only saw 3, they were just chilling out, eating on the right side of the trail. We started walking because we didn't want to scare them. Once we got closer, they noticed us, and started to run across the path to the woods on the left side of the trail. Once they got to running, we noticed there weren't just 3, or 4, but 5! The last deer being a baby! The rest of the run was pretty good. About half way through, Kim went on ahead of me, which was fine, I was having trouble keeping up and I didn't want to slow her down. It was a great relief went, we got done, because I got my miles in and because it gave me the rest of the weekend to do what I wanted!!! I went to Krispy Kreme after my run as an award! It was delicious!
I tried to keep myself busy, and not nap all day like I did after my last long run. I went back to my apartment, cleaned a little, and then got back out. I went to Border's (found a new planner!) and Target, I decided to get me a copy of New Moon! My plan is to read it this week again before the movies come out! Yea!
I went to Cups, and tried to waste a little more time before the State game came on. I hadn't been there quite an hour when I got a call from a friend, Jenny, asking me if I would go to Dogwood and help her find shoes and a dress. She has two little boys and her husband had his nephew over at their house, and she needed to get out! She did bring the 6 mo baby, which I was excited about. I had only seem him once since he was born. So I made my way back to Dogwood to help her out. We ended up going to Belk's, The Shoe Department, and Penny's, where we ended up finding everything she needed. And it gave her a much needed break from all the testosterone!! Ha! After we were done with her shopping, she invited me to go to Bonsai with her and her family. I decided I just wanted sushi, and it was so good! The hibachi guy even gave me some of the fried rice, which was an added bonus!
I got home in time to watch us lose the game against Alabama... this was a lose we actually deserved. We played pretty terrible. :(
