Book Description: A selection of quotations: Welty's descriptions of nature. This book is for lovers of nature and lovers of language. Eudora Welty was deeply attuned to the natural world. Her powers of observation were keen and constantly at work. Welty's knowledge of and pleasure in nature is abundantly apparent in her fiction. These selections are offered not only for their descriptive quality, but for her imaginative and provocative use of words.
I first saw this book at the Eudora Welty House, and I found a copy at the library. It was an interesting little quote / coffee table book. It had nature water color paintings from a Mississippi artist and quotes form Eudora Welty's books. I felt like this book was a waste of my time. It was as if the editor took nature words and did a word search from Eudora Welty's books and put that sentence in a book. Some seemed a little out of place or context. Really glad I didn't purchase this book.
