Summary: In tiny Anarene, Texas, in the lull between World War Two and the Korean Conflict, Sonny and Duane are best friends. I thought this was a great movie. Kind of sad, and very real of a small town. It was fun to see an older movie with lots of actors I recognize, like Jeff Bridges, Cybill Shepherd, and Cloris Leachman. This was the movie that earned Jeff Bridges his first Oscar Nomination. And this was Cybill Shepherd's very first movie, she was just a model before she was in this movie. This movie was also based on a book, by the same title, by Larry McMurtry, the same author that wrote Lonesome Dove, Terms of Endearment, and The Evening Star. The movie was a little slow at times, but still a must watch!!
