Becoming a Vegetarian for a month is on my 30 before 30 list. I decide February would be a good month, partly because I wanted to get it over with and mostly because it's the shortest month of the year. :D My original plan was to update everyday with pictures, but then I thought it might be a good idea to list everything I ate for the month, it was going to be a very long list! So, in the end I decided I'd just write one post about my experience.
I've decided on Octo-Lacto Vegetarian or Ovo-Lacto. What does this mean exactly? It means I was able to eat cheese, yogurt, milk, eggs, honey, etc. What I won't be eating is red mean, poultry, or fish. I had decided that if I need to I could have one (1) cheat day a week with fish. I only did this twice! Once when I went to visit John and another time when I had dinner with Can and Jen. So it was just for special occasions!
My overall thought is that it wasn't that bad. I know I didn't eat near enough vegetables. And I still managed to eat a lot of junk. But I did good eating enough fruit and getting alternate sources of protein (eggs, nuts, and protein shakes). I have decided that this is not a lifestyle change I would ever make. I like chicken and beef too much! But it was an interesting experience and it's something I can say I've tried!!
