We made it to Munich after a very entertaining flight from Scotland. I wish I would have gotten a picture of this guy on our flight, who smelled like he hadn't showered in about three days and who, by the looks of him, had lost a serious bet. He was wearing a 1970's blue flight attendant costume, including fishnet stockings and red high heels. The real flight attendants even let him give us a refresher on where the exits were and and let him pick up our trash.
This was my first Oktoberfest beer!
When we got to the city, we headed to the beer tents, where we met Juan, a friend/co-worker of John's. We didn't actually get into a beer tent, we were outside a tent. (You have to get there really really early to get into a tent.)
Another round! When we found Juan, he had become friends with the other people at the table outside the tent. So we got introduced and started chatting with our new friends.Turns out one of the guys, who was from Spain, did a student exchange program, in Granada, Mississippi! Makes you realize what a small world it really is!
Talking with the guy, somehow Tupelo came into the conversation. And for some reason, Tupelo became our cheers. So instead of Cheers or the German's Prost, it became Tupleoooooo!
This is the ginormous pretzel we ate.
A blurry pic of me and John.
We ended the night by having a Bockwurst for supper!
