Arrived in Edinburgh, Scotland around 9:00 a.m. after my first overseas plane ride. I was a little worried about it, but it turned out to not be too bad! When we landed it was rainy and continued to rain for most of the day. I think I brought the rain. John and his classmates all said that they had never seen it rain like that in all the times they have gone to Scotland, but we still managed to have a good evening.
I completely forgot that in the UK they drive on the opposite side of the road. So I was a bit surprised when the driver closed the door for me then got in the seat in front of me! I kept getting the feeling the driver was going to drive head on into oncoming traffic! This was something I didn't get used to while I was in Scotland.
View from the hotel of Edinburgh Castle!
Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding
After a little nap, we were starved! The Scottish have a Sunday tradition, Sunday roast beef and Yorkshire pudding . We were trying to figure out were to go, when we discovered the hotel offered the dish. I have to say, this was probably the best roast beef I've ever had. It was so tender and had a delicious gravy on the side. It was the first time I had ever had Yorkshire pudding. It was pretty tasty too!
First Scottish Beer!
I had an excursion planned to Loch Ness on Monday and I was going to have to get to the meeting place by myself. So to help me out, John and one of his co-workers/classmates, showed me how to get there. Along the way we did a little bit of beer hopping!
This little bar was lots for fun, spendy, but fun.
They had lots of gourmet beers to choose from, and we each got something different to try.
We decided to try their specialty beer. It was a port beer, and I really enjoyed it.
more please... :p
