Day trip to Loch Ness!

Today, John was going to be in class until 10:00 p.m. so I booked a day trip to the Highlands to see Loch Ness, and hopefully get a look at the Loch Ness Monster! It was a very chilly and rainy day, but I still had a great time! Here are some pictures from the day!

First stop, Callander. It was pretty much just a coffee/restroom break, but it was my first view of the highlands!

It cleared up a little when we stopped at a small Loch. (Don't remember the same.)

There was a hour boat tour, but I decided against it. It was nasty, rainy, and the boat didn't provide much cover. I also worried about how rough the boat may be. So I decided to just walk around the town and get some lunch. The tour guide suggested several places to eat, but to me they were a little spendy for fish and chips. I found the little shack along the canal. It was only carry-out and the little man running the place only had about 5 of his teeth left. I figured it was a good sign. It was also more then half then what the other restaurants were charging.

This was the best fish I've had in  a while. It might have been because I was starving from the long drive but it was pretty good. I sat along the canal and watched a few boats pass through. It was pretty neat to watch.

Then the main road moved to let the boats go into the Loch.
